Dr. Taylor Nielsen, DMD

Dr. Nielsen calls the Pacific Northwest home. Upon completion of high school, he spent two years serving a humanitarian aid mission. During his mission he became proficient in the Spanish language and remains fluent today.

Dr. Nielsen graduated with honors from Brigham Young University – Idaho and was selected to receive the Full Ride Air Force Health Professional Scholarship for dental school at Oregon Health and Science University.

He and his wonderful wife have a young daughter that has just found her legs and is always moving. He enjoys doing just about anything outdoors including camping, hiking, running, skiing, and going on walks with his family. He is passionate about serving those who do not have access to dental care and has completed dental missions in Peru and various public health organizations. He loves the field of dentistry and looks forward to helping you on your oral health journey.

Dr.Doyel

Dr. Nathan Doyel, DMD

Dr. Doyel graduated from OHSU dental school in 1997 with honors.  He has been honored as a “Top Dentist” in Oregon for eight years in a row and is the founder of Deserving Smile, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to reconstructing entire smiles for deserving individuals.  He has been an innovator with the “Trial Smile”, a technique developed for full mouth reconstruction to ensure ideal results.  “My goal is to provide my patients with the best possible dental care in an environment of comfort and compassion”.

Dr. Doyel has been part of the AAID’s advanced implant MaxiCourse and is a leader in 3D CAD/CAM dentistry, training other dentists in CEREC crowns and implants. He enjoys mentoring other dentists and sharing his knowledge with them. Dr. Doyel has advanced training in dental implants (sinus lifts, bone augmentation, bone expansion, guided surgery), periodontics (periodontal therapy, gum grafts, bone grafts, laser therapy), endodontics (root canal therapy), oral surgery (tooth extractions), full mouth reconstruction, sleep apnea oral appliance therapy, and also offers nitrous oxide sedation, oral sedation, and IV sedation. “I am dedicated to my patients and to keeping my skills at the highest level for them. I constantly seek out and implement the best of modern technology. That is what I want from my health care providers and that is what I offer my patients. I care about being the best for my patients”.

Dr. Doyel and his wife, Polly, have 5 children and feel it is a privilege to be able to work together. You can find Dr. Doyel with his family, performing in musicals, working out at CrossFit, or teaching or taking dental courses. Dr. Doyel is active in his church and community. He served a 2 year mission in Chicago for his church, working with the deaf, 3 years training missionaries, and 3 years teaching seminary. He has coached baseball and track. He has been on the YMCA board and a member of the Sherwood Rotary Club.

 
 
Dr.Aanderud

Dr. Ben Aanderud, DMD

Dr. Aanderud grew up in the Portland Metro area and has been practicing dentistry as a general dentist since 1999. Immediately following his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University, Dr. Aanderud served a 2-year mission in Argentina and speaks Spanish fluently. He then went on to study dentistry at Oregon Health Sciences University Dental School graduating with honors.

After completing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry program with the U.S. Army, Dr. Aanderud served in Kuwait as a general dentist and Captain. In June of 2001, he left active duty to join New Smiles.

He is the past President of the Sherwood Chamber of Commerce, continues to be an active member on the Board. This is one of the reasons he and his family chose to live in Sherwood. His hobbies are golfing and spending time with his wife, Kim, and their children.

Dr. Aanderud has received the “Oregon’s Top Dentists” Award three years in a row and is a member of the American Dental Association, the Oregon Dental Association, the Washington County Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry
